Rift Wizard is a turn-based roguelike which focuses on spell-based combat and character building.
Survive Finland in the iron age. You start in the middle of a vast, unfamiliar wilderness, carrying some food and basic equipment.


Combat in Rift Wizard is tactical and puzzle-like, with fixed damage numbers and no fog of war.

* Intricate procedural world full of wonders both mundane and extraordinary to explore on a very detailed level
Upon completing a level, the player has a choice of 2-4 rifts, all leading to different procedurally generated levels.  Levels vary both in the loot they contain, and in the enemies that inhabit them.  Matching your next rift to your build- and vice versa- can be the difference between victory and defeat.
* No character classes but nine different cultures to choose from
 
* Skill-based system including a multitude of skills from cookery to hide working, from herblore to tracking
Players gain skillpoints from completing levels- of which each run contains only 25.  Thus players must be quite careful with their character builds, balancing their near term needs with long term goals, while also  balancing versatility with synergy.
* Convincing northern animal kingdom with species-specific behaviour patterns and feeding relationships modeled in detail
 
* Detailed combat (and hunting) with many tactical options and galore of weapon, battle experience, and combatant-related factors resulting in vivid and rewarding struggles
