Description

From the website: "A rogue-like 2D turn-based game in which you play the role of a most lowly knight who has inherited a fief through some fortunate circumstances. However, the land appears to be nothing more than a tangle of wild country awaiting a strong-willed individual to turn it into a thriving village manor. Build your manor house and attract peasants to work for you in exchange for your protection. Begin your great dynasty, destined to rule the known world."

The game was announced on the Dwarf Fortress forums on Oct 20, 2009: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=43634

Tiers of Gameplay

The game will eventually offer four concurrent tiers of gameplay:

  • Survival
  • Village
  • City
  • Kingdom

Survival

The game starts in survival, trying to live off the land you've been given. You will need to craft tools and supplies from raw materials. The character has the following needs: Hunger, Thirst, and Sleep. The current Hunger status will effect the character's nutrition levels as well, which effects the Stamina rate. Stamina is the currency for performing most actions.

Crafting is performed by adding combinations of objects together or transforming existing objects.

A tutorial video for the currently released version of the game 0.4.5.1, can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMEDjjdciYY

Village

After you build the land, peasants will flock to your homestead and offer their labor.

City

Eventually your town will grow and you will be able to grow a a trade network on the world map.

Kingdom

Eventually you'll even be able to send armies to conquer more area of land.
