About

Madness is a Seven Day Roguelike written by hmp.

(from the developer)

Your task is simple: reach level 10 of the dungeon and defeat the evil Dungeon Master. Be careful - not all of what you see is real. And not all of what isn't real is harmless...

Madness is a simple dungeon crawler revolving around insanity, hallucinations (think Nethack hallucinations), and generally not trusting your own perception.

Unique/rare features

  • Visual effects based on the amount of remaining sanity the player possesses
  • Imaginary monsters, which may or may not harm you depending on current effects

Versions and platforms

Madness is written in Python and is available for Windows and Linux. Source code is provided so it may be ported to any platform with libtcod. Contributed builds for additional platforms are available on the homepage.
