Kiruna, Sweden: the_ru can probably host if enough people are willing to travel to Kiruna, Sweden.

Kisielewicz, Dopieralski: I'd prefer Poland, considering that we have the govermental RL world domination program, but as far as compromises go, I think Berlin is a nice idea.

Atlanta, Georgia: Atlanta is hosting Dragoncon 2008, a four day gaming convention, from Aug. 29 to Sept. 1st. I plan to promote roguelikes while I'm there. Plus the Stormtrooper parade they have downtown is outta sight.

Cracow, Poland: I propose Cracow/Poland, because roguelike development in Poland is supported by government funds, 5 university research teams, prime minister and a squirrel.

the_ru: Germany and Poland would be about the same distance for me, so both are ok

purestrain: Only if we drink some beer and everyone is speaking english slowly enough to be understandable...

I_Own_The_Letter_O: I would love to go to Atlanta but I cannot afford it, DragonCon sounds cool. I would love to vote for England but nobody else has suggested it. Out of the remaining Germany is the nearest to me and I speak a little of the language(tiny).

Mario Donick: Berlin is only 2 hours away from me, my brother, mother and friends of mine are living there - so Berlin ;) I would prefer a weekend in September, as in October university starts again.

Mingos: I'd love to go to Berlin, if you convince my boss to give me a week off, I'll change my vote :). Until that happens, my only alternative is Santiago...

njerpe: What a great excuse to go to Berlin! Its unlikely I'll be able to travel all that way, but I'll give it a good effort. Maybe there's a way to get others to participate remotely?

I really hope there is a way to participate remotely. Many people won't be able to attend. Nate879 01:44, 30 May 2008 (CEST)

Too soon for me to confirm my participation, unfortunately, as fares from Atlanta to Frankfurt are running $900. Maybe I'd be better off taking a steamship? --Njerpe 12:56, 13 July 2008 (CEST)

Why fly to Frankfurt when you can fly directly to Berlin? Free accomidation in Vienna to those who need/want it still availble. --Ido

That's up to the airlines, not us mere mortals. I'm also looking at a Frankfurt transfer (and a $1000 fee) --JeffLait 20:31, 29 July 2008 (CEST)

I propose we dub this the International Roguelike Development Conference 2008, or IRDC 2008 for short. No doubt conflicts with a half-dozen other industry groups, but you have to start somewhere... --JeffLait 05:24, 29 July 2008 (CEST)

Maybe some more interesting name, like Tailoring Roguelikes: International Conference on Roguelike Development (TRICoRD). (Although I think a better acronym could be found.) --R2 16:05, 29 July 2008 (CEST)

Society for the Advancement of Roguelike Games and Endeavors (SARGE)

A Multinational Populace Helping to Orchestrate Roguelike Awareness (AMPHORA)

Developer's Union for the Promotion of Roguelike Endeavors (DUPRE)

--Njerpe 22:07, 6 August 2008 (CEST)

I vote either for IRDC 2008 (simple and would fit well into any CV) or for TRICoRD (sounds nice) --Mario Donick 13:19, 10 August 2008 (CEST)

My vote is with the simplistic IRDC 2008. --JeffLait 14:44, 10 August 2008 (CEST)

Another vote for IRDC --User:ido (btw I'm moving this to the discussion page soon)
