I describe myself as a bibliophile and an avid gamer. I find Roguelikes enchanting not only for their gameplay, but also for their stories whether simple or groundbreaking. I've also made it a personal study to look into the graphical design choice of deciding what symbols to use for monsters, items, and the game world. In short, Roguelikes are a fascinating genre of gaming that I'm proud to be a part of.

Perhaps the Roguelikes I'm most fascinated by are the elders of the race, such as Hack, Larn, and Rogue itself. The genre has a fascinating history, and it's very fun to trace the roots of all of the games in the genre to one common ancestor. Studying the source code for the early games is also a good bit of fun for me, as it allows me to see how complex games were made for relatively simple systems.

I'm planning on developing one or two of my own Roguelikes, but we'll see how that goes :-)

My favorite Roguelike by far is NetHack.
