The RogueBasin is a central knowledge-base for everything related to the Roguelike genre, as well as a detailed directory of Roguelikes.

Goal

Roguebasin is a communal resource to document Roguelike Games and the community that surrounds them. Our goals are similar to those of Wikipedia - to provide a neutral, centralized, and archived location to document this field. Individual roguelike sites are scattered across the 'net and also can disappear at any time. We do not use Wikipedia, however, as we have a very different standard for notability and original research than they do. Roguebasin is an appropriate location to record the most obscure roguelikes. Roguebasin is also an appropriate location to place permament articles on roguelike theory, whether or not they are original research.

We would like to encourage neutral point of view, however.

Contribute

One of the easiest ways to contribute is to add your name to the RGRD Wiki Project. Simply add your name there yourself, or post a message on rgrd stating that you'd like to participate, and what you agree to. If someone happens to see a relevant post by you, they'll upload it to this wiki as an article.

If you'd like to contribute to RogueBasin directly, simply create and log into an account. Feel very free to edit! We especially need more information added to the games pages and the lists - if you're a developer, consider updating your game's page, and making sure that it (and you) are included in the relevant lists. Have a look at the templates, category:main or the article requests.

Game Announcements

If you have a new game/version/release to announce to the world, Make an edit to the News page, and please follow the existing format. If you want to generate discussion and receive feedback and comments, make sure to head over to RogueTemple and use their forums, as well as rgrd.
